What we build, and what we hold ourselves accountable to.

These are the principles Levio is built on, and for each one, what we do not do.

AI is making many things possible in education right now — but not everything that is possible is sensible.

Levio is a deliberate selection: what we build, what we don't build, where we take responsibility, and where we leave teaching in the lead.

Levio's principles

Five principles

  1. Grounded in your substance, not in thin air

    Levio answers from your content — textbooks, scripts, curricula. That content is mapped into a verifiable structure, and every answer Levio gives is anchored to concrete content sources. The language model underneath only materialises — it does not decide what learners see.

    What we don't doWe are not a general AI chat. If your material doesn't cover something, Levio doesn't hallucinate it.

  2. Educators stay in the lead

    Levio relieves the load of repetition work, differentiation and accompaniment between sessions. It does not replace pedagogical relationships, didactic decisions, or assessment.

    What we don't doWe are not building a teacher-replacement machine. Teaching is a relationship, and relationships are human.

  3. Levio does not diagnose

    Levio does not classify personal traits. It makes no claims like "learner X is unmotivated" or "Y has a concentration problem". Instead, Levio derives didactic levers — where a different form of explanation might help, where more retrieval practice would make sense. Interpretation stays with humans.

    What we don't doWe do not build psychological profiles of learners. We label no-one.

  4. No biometric data

    Levio does not detect emotions from facial expression, voice, or eye-tracking. Learners are asked, not observed. What Levio knows about emotional-motivational states comes from voluntary self-assessments and how learners interact with tasks — not from their face or their voice.

  5. Auditable from the start

    Every adaptation Levio makes is documented. Educators, mature learners, and guardians can trace why Levio supported differently at a given point. Auditability is not bolted on afterwards — it's a design principle.
